This weekend, the world of NASCAR will focus its attention on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the running of the All State 400 at the Brickyard. Most of the drivers will tell you that next to the Daytona 500 this is the race that they would like to win the most. It’s a knowledgeable racing crowd that will head through the turnstiles of the famed Motor Speedway this weekend. Here are some of the things we can expect to see in Indy this Sunday.
KYLE BUSCH – Busch has been phenomenal thus far this season. Can he continue dominating the Sprint Cup series at the famed Brickyard? Make no mistake about it, he’s racing’s latest bad boy. In Indianapolis the fans love Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne. Expect little Busch to be booed heavily this weekend—he’ll love every minute of it.
JEFF GORDON – Gordon can trace most of his racing roots to his youth in Indiana. He’ll be extremely visible in Indianapolis—hosting a major charity bowling event in the city just before the race. He’s won this race four times already and is always a fan favorite here.
JIMMIE JOHNSON – No NASCAR driver is more tranquil or more media polished than the smooth Jimmie Johnson. He’ll be very visible in Indianapolis and will handle the pre-race hype better than anyone. Kyle Busch is grabbing all the headlines this season, but Johnson is lurking in the point’s championship race.
KASEY KAHNE – He’s the heart throb of the Indy crowd this weekend—after a disappointing season last year, his legions of fans have high hopes for win at the Brickyard. Kahne has had an excellent season and he’s grown up wanting to be an Indy car driver.
TONY STEWART – He has a tremendous home track advantage. He’s a Hoosier through and through and is a native of nearby Columbus. The man they call “Smoke” will have many fans in Indy this weekend. Normally when the spotlight is the biggest, Tony Stewart is at his best. He may be the driver to beat on Sunday.
