I am unsatisfied. My stomach is still not full after a season long meal of college football. When the season ends after the BCS title game on January 7th, we will still not know who the number one team in the nation is. Not really.
LSU and Ohio State will battle for the BCS title. But Georgia, USC and Oklahoma may all be deserving as well.
We need a playoff.
What about Hawaii? They’re undefeated. What if they win the Sugar Bowl over Georgia? I don’t think it will happen, but if it does, should they be number one?
We need a playoff.
How about Missouri? They beat Kansas two weeks ago. Yet, Kansas goes to the BCS Orange Bowl, while Missouri goes to the non-BCS Cotton Bowl.
We need a playoff.
How good is West Virginia? We will know more after they play Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl? What if they win that game? Should they be number one?
We need a playoff.
It’s simple, play the four BCS games, take the winners of those games and stage a four team playoff.
What do you think?

One Response to “COLLEGE FOOTBALL NEEDS A PLAYOFF”
We could use the current bowls and use the top 32 teams. It would take 5 weeks over the holidays.
For Example:
#1 vs #32 in the Poinsetta Bowl. vs the winner of the Insight Bowl #16 vs #17. Those winners would play in the Chick-fil-A bowl.
At the other end of the bracket, #2 would play #31 in the New Orleans bowl while #15 would play #18 in the Independence bowl. Those two winners would meet in the Music Bowl the next week. So on and so forth. It would be fun.
