Last Friday we gave you our predictions for the upcoming season. We are not always right, but we hit big on one last Friday. I wrote that embattled NFL wide receiver, Randy Moss, would have a big year and be rejuvenated by playing in New England.
Pardon me for crowing a little, but boy, was I right!! Moss was not only inspired, he was back to being a big time game changing weapon again as he torched the New York Jets on Sunday with nine catches for 183 yards and a touchdown in the Pats 38-14 win. He also made big play catches of 51, 33 and 22 yards.
We shouldn’t be surprised—Moss was frustrated losing in his last few years in Minnesota. And, he lost all motivation in Oakland playing for the hapless Raiders who did not have a quarterback who could get him the ball. But in New England, as he says, he is “like a kid with all kinds of toys to play with on Christmas Day”. He has Tom Brady to get him the ball. He has other receivers to take double coverage away from him. And no one can cover Moss one on one, no one.
He also has a chip on his shoulder to prove wrong many of the experts who doubted his abilities. In this case the experts were wrong, if he stays healthy, Moss could have the finest year of his NFL career.
